Spiritual Journey

At some point in the existence of each and every one of us, we go on a spiritual journey.  Some of us begin a spiritual journey practically at birth.  Often we're raised in religious homes and at some point question everything we're being taught.  Others don't experience a spiritual journey until much later in life.  Whatever the circumstance, the fact is that eventually we all go through it.

My spiritual journey began when I was about 20 years old and really started to question Christianity, which was the religion I had been taught up until that point in my life.  Suddenly I was interested in Wicca and Paganism.  This is not an easy religion to openly investigate, and I say this from personal experience.  Everything seemed so different and in opposition of the beliefs of my family.  I questioned whether I should ever tell a soul.  I battled with it on a daily basis.  The more that I studied and researched, the more right it felt.  The further my soul-searching went, the more certain I became that Paganism was for me.

As you all know, I am a very active, practicing Eclectic Witch.  More often than not, people come to me to learn about Paganism, and I am always a willing teacher for the willing student.  Now all I teach is Paganism and Wicca.  Last week, one of my students came to me for clarity.  He told me that he had been reading the King James Bible and was really enjoying it.  It was making him truly happy and he was finding peace through studying it.  Then I gave him the same advice that I'm about to give all of you:

When you're curious about religions, study them all.  I mean really study every single one!  Find the one that feels right. Find the one that grounds you to this world and brings you the peace that we all seek.  I am a Witch, and I will be the very first one to say that if Christianity is right for you, follow it with a full heart.  There is not one single religion in this world that is right for everybody.  You must find your own beliefs on this spiritual journey that we all are on at some point.  Enjoy the journey to its fullest.  Blessings to you all!
